Goldie is the old man of the household. His full name according to his papers is "Lund's Golden Boy of Alden", but that was too much of a mouthful for his previous owners so it was shortened to Goldie. He also answers to the nickname "Hairy". He was originally Katie's dog, but now that she has moved away Mike has become his best friend (actually, anyone that gives him something to eat, or pets him is is best friend). He and Mike actually have a lot in common:

Both are going grey.

Both used to have red highlights in their hair/fur.

Both are always hungry.

Both move a bit slower than they used to.

Both are known to have the occasional "bad hair days":
